Who am I?

Yes, this might indeed be an interesting question! Who am I, the person writing everything on this website?

Well, I don’t want to be rude, let me introduce myself: My name is Tommy Tokstad. I’m 29 and am currently living in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, approximately 30 seconds walking from the most fantastic 4 mile long Las Canteras beach. Life could be worse!

My educational background is in Law, Computer Science and Mathematics (interesting combination, eh?) and for a period I worked in what was then the world’s largest law firm.

A few years ago I decided it was time to expand my horizon and venture abroad. At some point I ended up in Granada (Spain) where I spent 3.5 amazing months! It was an incredible time, and we had a lot of fun (as you can see from the picture on the right).

After leaving, I decided that I couldn’t let it end here… and with some help and inspiration I set up a language school agency to assist people locate the right language school for them. Today the company represents 70 schools in Spain and Latin America, and this is what I do for a (nice) living.

Here on this website I will try not only to share with you my own experiences at a language school and what I have learned by working with language schools all over the world (including 100s of questions from students) – but also share my unbridled enthusiasm for living and studying abroad!!! I hope I can give you the desire and courage to go and have an experience for life.
